Meet our Lead Pastor.

Rev. Steve Trudel

Lead pastor

In the Fall of 2013, Steve began his first full-time ministry position as an Assistant Pastor at CCBAC. On March 5, 2017, Pastor Steve was installed as Lead Pastor. He married Alison in the church in 1994 and has felt blessed to be a part of our church family ever since. After owning a painting company for over fifteen years, Steve heard a call from the Lord to prepare for full-time ministry, and in 2010, Steve and Alison, along with their four children found themselves living at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where Steve pursued his Master of Divinity degree. Upon graduation in 2013, the entire family’s testimony was one of profound gratitude for the Lord’s faithfulness and a deep sense of expectancy for what the Lord had next for them, and it was with amazement that they watched the Lord open the door for Steve to join our staff here at CCBAC.

Steve’s greatest passion in life is following Jesus, studying and proclaiming His Word and seeing the Lord at work in the life of His people both locally and to the ends of the earth. Steve loves the Cape and you may find him on occasion wading its shores in pursuit of striped bass or warming himself in its sand with his family. Steve, his wife Alison, and their four children live in Brewster.

Meet our Associate Pastor.

Pastor Ryan Legg

Associate pastor

Ryan Legg, originally from Lake Stevens, Washington, attended George Fox University where he received a bachelor’s in Christian Education. In 2013, Ryan felt the Lord calling him into full-time ministry, so he moved from the rugged mountains of Oregon to the rolling hills of Kentucky where he not only met his beautiful wife, Hunter, but received his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Previously serving in Western PA as a solo Pastor, Ryan, Hunter, and their daughter are thrilled to be a part of what God is doing on Cape and in the greater New England area.

Ryan has a passion for discipleship, youth ministry, prayer, preaching and teaching, church fellowship, and seeing people grow in the Lord and experience the freedom that comes from following Christ.

As a family, the Leggs really enjoy being outside, working out, walking on the beach, going on outdoor runs, exploring the Cape, spending time with friends, eating great food, and watching the Great British Baking Show

Cyndi joined the church staff in October 2019. She is delighted to have the opportunity to support Pastor Steve, as well as to grow with and serve alongside her church family. Cyndi grew up in New Jersey and later lived in North Carolina and Tennessee. In 1994, she, her husband Bob and their two sons moved to the Cape and started attending CCBAC.

For many years, Cyndi has facilitated a Bible study for mothers. She has a passion to see women go deeper in their personal relationship with Jesus and become disciple making disciples, especially in their homes. Hiking and bike riding with her husband, vacationing to National Parks with her family, which now also includes 2 lovely daughters (in-law), or simply sitting with friends sharing life, brings Cyndi great joy.

Our History

Our church was incorporated in 1978 by a group that had been meeting together for Bible study and to form a church. One of the members of that group was a daughter of Alliance missionaries who suggested they contact the New England District of the C&MA. Myron Heckman was called as Pastor shortly thereafter. He was supported by New England Home Missions for three years, with the church assuming increasing financial support over that time.

After ten years of renting, a first church building was constructed in 1987, and expanded in 1997. In November of 2012, the church was burned to the foundation by an arson fire. The arsonist had no connection of the church and was convicted and sentenced in 2014. A new church building was built in the same, but expanded, location and began holding services in the spring of 2016.

In 2017 Pastor Steve Trudel became Lead Pastor while Pastor Myron remained on staff as an Associate Pastor until his retirement in January 2019.
