Our Story
Our church was incorporated in 1978 by a group that had been meeting together for Bible study and to form a church. One of the members of that group was a daughter of Alliance missionaries who suggested they contact the New England District of the C&MA. Myron Heckman was called as Pastor shortly thereafter. He was supported by New England Home Missions for three years, with the church assuming increasing financial support over that time.
After ten years of renting, a first church building was constructed in 1987, and expanded in 1997. In November of 2012, the church was burned to the foundation by an arson fire. The arsonist had no connection of the church and was convicted and sentenced in 2014. A new church building was built in the same, but expanded, location and began holding services in the spring of 2016.
In 2017 Pastor Steve Trudel became Lead Pastor while Pastor Myron remained on staff as an Associate Pastor until his retirement in January 2019.
Our Lead Pastor
Rev. Steve Trudel
Lead pastor
We’re grateful to share a little of Pastor Steve’s story and the heart he brings to CCBAC. Steve began serving as Assistant Pastor in the fall of 2013 and was installed as Lead Pastor on March 5, 2017. Long before joining the staff, Steve and his wife, Alison, were deeply rooted in the life of our church. They were married at CCBAC in 1994 and have faithfully called this church family home ever since.
Before entering full-time ministry, Steve owned and operated a painting company for more than fifteen years. In 2010, sensing the Lord’s clear call into pastoral ministry, Steve and Alison stepped out in faith and moved with their four children to South Hamilton, where Steve pursued his Master of Divinity degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Upon graduating in 2013, they were humbled and grateful to see God open the door for Steve to return to CCBAC—not just as a member, but as a pastor serving the very church that had helped shape their faith and family.
Steve’s greatest joy is following Jesus, teaching and proclaiming God’s Word, and walking alongside people as they grow in their relationship with Christ. He cares deeply for both the local church and global missions and loves seeing God transform lives through the power of the Gospel.
Outside of ministry, Steve treasures time with Alison and their children. Whether fishing for striped bass, enjoying the beach, or simply spending time together on Cape Cod, he is thankful for the community and place the Lord has called home. Steve and Alison continue to live in Brewster, where they remain committed to loving and serving the people of CCBAC and beyond.
Our Team
Cyndi Grant
Lead Pastor’s Administrative assistant
Cyndi joined the CCBAC staff in October 2019 and is grateful for the opportunity to support Pastor Steve while serving alongside her church family. Originally from New Jersey, she also lived in North Carolina and Tennessee before moving to Cape Cod with her husband, Bob, and their two sons in 1994—when they first began attending CCBAC.
For many years, Cyndi has led a Bible study for mothers and is passionate about helping women grow in their relationship with Jesus and become disciple-making disciples, especially within their homes and families. She loves encouraging others to live out their faith with purpose, grace, and authenticity.
In her free time, Cyndi enjoys hiking and biking with Bob, visiting National Parks with her growing family—including two wonderful daughters-in-law—and spending meaningful time with friends, sharing life together.
Olaf Valli
Pastor of Ministry Development
Olaf joined the CCBAC staff in 2025 with a deep passion for discipleship and helping people encounter God in everyday life. Over the years, he has invested in youth, families, and local communities through ministry, coaching, Youth for Christ Cape Cod, and his family’s small business in Wellfleet. Alongside his wife, Angie, and their three children—Mataya, Asa, and Azariah—Olaf is grateful to call Cape Cod home.
He is passionate about the mission of the Christian & Missionary Alliance and helping the local church live with purpose, faith, and hope. Whether teaching, leading, or simply spending time with people, Olaf desires to see lives transformed by the love of Jesus.
Outside of ministry, Olaf enjoys being on the water, supporting local youth, and building meaningful relationships in the community. His prayer is that CCBAC would be a place where every person is known, loved, equipped, and sent into the world with the hope of Christ.
Jesse Cecchi
Worship Pastor/ Admin. Director
We’re so grateful to have Jesse serving on the CCBAC staff since May 2023. Born and raised on Cape Cod, Jesse has always had a deep connection to this community and to the church he now calls home once again. He graduated from Crown College with a degree in Discipleship Ministry and has a heart for helping others experience the presence of God in meaningful and authentic ways.
After several years away, Jesse and his wife, Sam, felt the Lord lovingly calling them back to Cape Cod. Returning home has been a gift—not only for them, but also for our church family. Along with their son, they are thankful to be rooted in the community that helped shape their faith.
On Sundays, you’ll often find Jesse leading our worship and tech teams with humility, creativity, and joy. Whether through music, behind-the-scenes support, or everyday conversations, Jesse desires to point people toward Jesus and help create spaces where others feel welcomed, encouraged, and drawn closer to God.
Samantha Cecchi
Communications/Admin.
We’re excited to introduce Samantha, who joined the CCBAC staff in July 2021! Originally from California and raised in Minnesota, Samantha’s story has been deeply shaped by faith, family, and a heart for serving others. Her connection to Crown College began long before she attended—her parents were students there in 1994—and it was there, in the fall of 2011, that she met her husband, Jesse.
Today, Samantha and Jesse are grateful to be serving the Lord together while raising their son, Leon, on Cape Cod. Whether behind the scenes or alongside one another on Sundays, Samantha brings a joyful spirit, servant’s heart, and deep love for people into every area of ministry.
She is passionate about building meaningful relationships, supporting the life of the church, and helping create a welcoming environment where others can encounter the love of Jesus.
